I have had this reader since October 2010 and really enjoy using it!

The advantages of the Aluratek Libre are:

Compact size for carrying around, and there is little, irf any, glare on the screen
You can read books from a wide variety of formats, such as EPub, PDF, Mobi, TXT, RTF, and several others - more than most other ereaders;
You can view photos in the BMP, JPG, or GIF Formats, and even though they are in grayscale, they appear pretty clear on the screen;
There is an MP3 player so you can listen to music, audiobooks, or other audio;
You can also view your own personal documents on the reader, too;
The customer support from Aluratek is excellent;
The reader is easy to use, and has additional features like bookmarking, expandable fonts; landscape or portrait viewing;
This reader is being sold at a bargain price as other newer Aluratek readers have wifi, touchscreens or color but cost more;
Books can be purchased from the internet at sources like Kobo, Borders, Books A million, Google; Sony, and free books at Guttenberg Books, and you can borrow ebooks from your library too for use on the Libre;

The slight disadvantages are:

Battery life is about 2 weeks, which is average for a reader;
The reader has a reset button on the back, which you may need to use once in a while, but this never causes you to lose your books or bookmarks.

Anyone looking to buy a reader should give the Libre top consideration. It may not have all the special features of other higher priced readers, but it does a variety of things ar a great price. You will not regret buying this reader.

I bought this for my students to use in school. I love the fact that it is NOT WiFi or 3G connected, so they can not use class time on internet game sites. It comes loaded with all the classics I use in my class, and I can add works to it via USB from my computer. Every student should have one of these for school or college.

I bought this used, and although the box was broken and severely damaged, the item itself and accessories were perfect. Has 100 books already installed on it, came with power cord, USB cord, earbuds, and even a neoprene case! Only problem I found was under the title "Adventures of Tom Sawyer" was the Old Testament of the Bible! No explanation for that one.... Although I only glanced through a couple books, this is the only one I found like that.

Ease of use is incredible. No need to read the manual, it's self-explanatory... which is PERFECT for my 10-year-old I bought it for.

All in all, if you are looking for a low price kindle-wannabe, and don't need wifi, color, or touchscreen, etc. then this is perfect. My son will be very happy this Christmas, and it will make his backpack MUCH lighter!
